Project Description
• The UNDP-funded Community Development Project (CDP) was implemented from 1 January to 31 August 2025 in central Rakhine State,
Myanmar.
• The project aimed to improve livelihoods, empower women, strengthen food security, and build community resilience while reducing disaster
risks.
• Using a participatory approach, the project will support 400 households through home gardening, agricultural inputs, pond renovation, fencing,
and Emergency Preparedness and Response Plan (EPRP) workshops.
Project Objectives
• Provide direct home gardening and agricultural in-kind support to households in central Rakhine State, Myanmar.
• Improve safe water access through pond renovation and fencing activities in targeted villages.
• Conduct Emergency Preparedness and Response Plan (EPRP) workshops and produce reports to support grant funding for risk reduction
activities.
Key Achievements
• The project distributed 6,300 additional packages of vegetable seeds after finding over 400 households engaged in agriculture and home
gardening, exceeding the initial plan.
• A total of 1,700 households (HHs) received vegetable seeds for home gardening across 22 targeted villages (up from the initial 5 villages).
• 300 HHs received quality paddy seeds for farming
